Burny FB-80Z Ziggy Matsuo Sounin Signature Firebird Cardinal Red

A rare and striking piece of late-80s/early-90s Japanese guitar craftsmanship. The Burny FB-80Z was the signature model of Matsuo Sounin, guitarist for the J-rock band ZIGGY, and carries all the attitude you’d expect from that era.
Built in Japan around 1990, this Firebird-inspired model pairs a mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fretboard, brass nut, and banjo-style tuners. Its trio of original Burny humbuckers delivers a sharp, articulate tone—crisp highs, bold mids, and plenty of bite. The neck feels fast and lively, and the guitar resonates beautifully even unplugged.
Finished in a vivid Cardinal Red gloss, this model stands out both visually and sonically.
Some minor changes—two replaced tuners, new knobs, and a missing bridge pickup cover—don’t detract from its originality or playability.
