The Burny RSG65-53 is part of Burny’s SG-style lineup produced during the company’s highly regarded MIJ era. Designed as a faithful interpretation of the classic SG formula, it combines traditional construction with the consistency and attention to detail that helped Burny develop a strong reputation among Japanese-made vintage-style instruments.
A mahogany body paired with a set mahogany neck delivers the familiar SG tonal profile—tight low end, strong midrange presence, and fast attack. The rosewood fingerboard adds warmth and smoothness across the register, while the lightweight SG body keeps the instrument comfortable whether seated or on a strap.
Electronics are centred around Burny’s VH-series humbuckers, vintage-voiced pickups developed during the brand’s golden era. These pickups typically measure around the high-7k to low-8k range, offering clear articulation, dynamic response, and enough output to move easily between clean tones, bluesy breakup, and classic rock drive.
Finished in classic White, the guitar has often aged to a subtle cream tone over time, giving the instrument the kind of character that only develops with years of use. Paired with traditional SG styling and simple hardware, the result is a straightforward MIJ workhorse that prioritises tone and feel over unnecessary ornamentation.
