Fender Japan JB75-121US MB / M Dolphin Grey Gray Gold Hardware
Fender Japan JB75-121US MB / M Dolphin Grey Gray Gold Hardware
This Fender '75 vintage reissue Jazz Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order. One of the more rare and upscale Jazz Bass models produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market (and now discontinued), this "Crafted in Japan" model features a bound maple fretboard with black block inlay,.
Featuring an alder body, there's a strong fundamental punch and sustain to the tone, and the low end is thick and focused. There's a growl and clarity to the bridge pickup, which is balanced by the fuller thump of the neck position single coil, but naturally many of the instrument's best tones come from finding the perfect blend between the two.
The one-piece maple neck has a medium C shaped profile with decent chunk and roundness, feeling both substantial and fast. The maple fretboard features both black block inlay and black binding. The original medium jumbo frets show virtually no wear. The headstock features full-size vintage-style Fender tuner baseplates with clover buttons on the stems and a block Jazz Bass logo.
All of the electronics work as they should. The gold hardware and plastic parts show character and cosmetically, this is a very clean and well-kept instrument. The neck is flawless, with no wear on the profile.
This Jazz Bass was exclusive to the Japanese market and rarely seen outside its country of origin! The 121 in the model name indicate a upper range model. It's a testament to the build quality and attention to detail of Fender Japan's vintage reissue instruments.
Condition: No major dings or scratches, especially nothing that would be visible from afar.
Playability: Straight neck, no buzzing, almost no fret wear, action is comfortable, no issues with electronics
