A Fender '57 Reissue Strat, made in Japan from 84-87 that is in amazing condition. We have rarely come across a 35+ year old guitar that looks like this. A collector’s guitar if it wasn’t so much fun to play. The famed E-serial period came directly after the legendary JV-serial instruments; they shared most of the same specs and parts and were made by the same meticulous hands. This one feels great: straight away, you can really feel the love that went into it. The neck features beautiful rosewood and is dead straight and feels absolutely beautiful. The tone is rich and deep: heaps of natural attack and a fat, rounded bass... perfect for funk with a pronounced percussive quality to it.
There's plenty of chime and sparkle on deck too, but even on the bridge pickup this is always sweet and never harsh. Again, for a guitar this age, it is incredible to see it in such great shape, with the original bag and the original docs to prove it. Such a great find that delivers in tone and feel just as much as it does in looks / condition.
Condition: Some very minor scratches, only noticeable when looking up close. Small ding near the controls (hard to picture)
Playability: Straight neck, no buzzing, very little fret wear, action is comfortable, no issues with electronics
