Orville SG-65 SG Ebony Gibson Pickups & Bigsby

Orville was Gibson's Japanese-market brand throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, created to offer authentic Gibson-inspired instruments built in Japan for domestic sale. Named after Orville Gibson, the brand has since developed a strong following among players seeking vintage Japanese craftsmanship combined with classic Gibson styling.

This SG-65 captures everything that makes the SG platform so enduringly popular: lightweight construction, effortless upper-fret access, and a lively, resonant feel that responds immediately to the player's touch. The mahogany body and neck provide strong midrange character and excellent sustain, while the rosewood fingerboard delivers a smooth, familiar playing experience.

This example has been upgraded with a genuine Gibson 490R / 498T pickup set. The 490R neck pickup offers warm, articulate cleans and smooth overdriven tones, while the higher-output 498T bridge pickup adds aggressive mids, strong harmonic content, and excellent cut for rock and hard rock applications. Together they form one of Gibson's most popular modern pickup combinations.

Adding further character is the factory-installed Bigsby vibrato, giving the guitar a distinctive visual presence and allowing for subtle pitch modulation without sacrificing the SG's fundamental tone and responsiveness.

Finished in Ebony, the guitar combines the sleek appearance of a black SG with the vintage-inspired appeal of nickel hardware and the classic Bigsby silhouette.
