Yamaha SA700 Super Axe Persimmon Red 1978
Yamaha SA700 Super Axe Persimmon Red 1978
This is Yamaha’s version of Gibson ES’ of the 1970’s, and like many Yamahas from that time period, this one makes a very strong case for the brand. It is beautifully crafted and built for precision.
We’ve been really pleasantly surprised by these pickups too. They are perfectly balanced, plenty of body and warmth with a nice bite when you dig in, the tone of this guitar is unbelievable and so versatile, easily going from rock to more sophisticated jazzier tones.
For a guitar that is over 40 years old, this one looks amazing. Yes there are dings and scratches, but we can tell this was really well looked after.
