Yamaha SG-1500 Jade Green

A Yamaha SG1500 in great shape. An amazingly well built instrument with most of the same appointments as the famed SG2000. If you know about the Yamaha SG series, you know they featured plenty top tier features and didn’t skimp on detail. Unlike the other Yamaha SGs, you can see the neck-through construction through the finish on the top of the guitar, giving it a little extra style!

What made these guitars “Les Paul Killers” was not just about craftmanship though, it had a lot to do with versatility, the pickups on these SGs simply produce musical tones on a wider gamut. Add a couple of push/pull pots into the mix for coil splits and it’s tone city.

The attention to detail is insane: stamped gold tuners, split triangle inlays on the rosewood fretboard, engraved truss rod cover, ornate embossed stopbar, hand-carved nut. The tone knobs on these were redesigned starting from the standard LP knob but adding ridges for more comfortable turning. Yamaha just made it their mission to improve on everything they saw on a Les Paul. 

Condition: Guitar top is in great shape, only some minor scratches that are only visible up close, the back of the guitar has some dings and scratches that are more noticeable toward the bottom of the guitar, hardware shows some aging / patina

Playability: Straight neck, very minor fret wear, action is comfortable, no issues with electronics.
