Burny RLC-105X Pata Les Paul Custom Ebony w/Sustainer System

The Burny RLC-105X is a signature model for Pata, rhythm guitarist of X Japan, and represents one of the more distinctive entries in Burny’s Les Paul Custom-style lineup. Produced in Japan under the Fernandes umbrella in the late 1990s, the model combines traditional Custom aesthetics with a built-in Fernandes Sustainer system.

Construction follows the classic Les Paul formula: a mahogany body with a carved maple top paired with a set mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard. The result is a dense, sustaining platform with strong midrange presence and excellent note bloom. At approximately 4 kg, the guitar remains comfortably balanced while retaining the substantial feel associated with Les Paul Customs.

The defining feature is the Fernandes Sustainer system in the neck position, capable of producing near-infinite sustain and controlled harmonic feedback. It can operate in multiple modes—standard sustain, harmonic feedback, or a blend—controlled via mini toggles on the body. The bridge pickup is voiced in the style of a DiMarzio Super Distortion, delivering strong output with aggressive lows and cutting highs that pair well with the Sustainer for lead work and controlled feedback effects.

Finished in gloss Ebony with gold hardware and traditional Custom appointments, the RLC-105X maintains the visual authority of a Les Paul Custom while offering expanded sonic capabilities.
