The RSG75-69 Revival Series represents Burny’s late-’80s effort to accurately reproduce late-’60s SG specifications, produced during a period when Japanese manufacturers were refining vintage-inspired models to an exceptional standard. With an original MSRP of ¥75,000, this sat comfortably in Burny’s upper-mid tier of the era.

Built with a beveled African mahogany body and set mahogany neck, the RSG75-69 delivers the focused midrange, quick attack, and lively resonance that define the SG platform. By the late ’80s, Burny had transitioned to the angled heel design, improving upper-fret access compared to earlier square-heel versions while maintaining structural stability.

The neck features a medium C profile, comfortable without feeling slim to the point of fragility. A rosewood fingerboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays, traditional 24.75" scale, and bone nut complete the vintage specification. Binding is single-ply along the neck with frets extending over the binding, consistent with Revival Series construction.

Electronics varied slightly depending on production year within the Revival run. Late-’80s examples commonly feature VH-3 humbuckers, ceramic-magnet units measuring around 8kΩ, delivering a tighter low end and slightly more aggressive top compared to earlier AlNiCo-equipped L-8001 or VH-2 sets. The control layout remains traditional: two volume, two tone, and a three-way toggle.

Finished in classic Cherry, the guitar captures the aesthetic and tonal intent of a late-’60s SG while maintaining the consistency and reliability associated with Burny’s MIJ production.
