Edwards by ESP E-LS-JR LTD Les Paul Junior Double Cut TV Yellow Lacquer Finish 2025

The Edwards E-LS-JR-LTD is a beautifully executed Japanese take on the classic double-cut Les Paul Junior, built around the stripped-back formula that makes these guitars so appealing: lightweight mahogany construction, a single P-90 and little else between the player and the amp.

Built in Japan by ESP's Edwards division, the guitar features a mahogany body and set mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, along with a long neck tenon and familiar 628mm scale. The neck has a relatively slim, modern profile rather than the substantial feel associated with some vintage Juniors, making it particularly comfortable for faster playing while retaining the resonance of traditional set-neck construction.

At the heart of the guitar is a single Edwards P-90, controlled by just master volume and tone. It's a wonderfully direct setup, capable of everything from warm, rounded cleans through gritty blues and classic rock to the aggressive midrange bite that makes a good Junior such an effective rock guitar. Picking dynamics and adjustments at the volume control make a surprisingly large difference with such a simple circuit.

This LTD version features Edwards' lacquer-finished treatment, giving the TV Yellow finish a more traditional look and feel than a heavier modern polyester finish. Combined with the double-cut body, wraparound-style bridge and simple appointments, it's a convincing interpretation of one of the most straightforward electric guitar designs ever made.

This example also has a particularly cool vintage pin-up style sticker on the rear of the headstock. We've deliberately left it in place as it suits the character of the guitar nicely. Importantly, there is no damage, break or repair to the headstock underneath or around it.

Playability

The slim, modern neck profile is comfortable and easy to navigate, with the double-cut body providing excellent access to the upper frets. A particularly responsive guitar where changes in picking attack and the volume control translate immediately through the single P-90.

• Visual Condition: Very good overall with a few minor chips, marks and imperfections around the body consistent with normal use. A pin-up sticker has been applied to the rear of the headstock and has been left in place because it suits the guitar particularly well.
