VG KTR-ES CST Key To The Rock ES-335 Semi-Hollow Olive Drab Green
VG
The KTR-ES STD from VG’s Key To The Rock series is a Japanese-built semi-hollow developed in collaboration with Musicland Key and crafted at the respected Terada Gakki factory. Positioned as a high-quality ES-style instrument with modern precision, it blends traditional semi-hollow construction with carefully chosen contemporary hardware.
The body follows the classic ES formula but with refined execution: a laminated maple top, back, and sides paired with a spruce/maple centre block. The result is a controlled low end, articulate attack, and excellent feedback resistance without sacrificing the airy character that defines this style. The Olive Drab Green finish gives it a distinctive visual identity—subtle, utilitarian, and a refreshing departure from typical bursts.
An African mahogany neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard provide a comfortable, moderate profile with a 24.75" scale and flatter 15.75" radius, offering a smooth, stable feel across the fretboard. At 3.5 kg, the guitar remains well balanced and stage-friendly.
Electronics consist of a pair of KTR humbuckers, voiced for clarity and dynamic range rather than excessive compression. Clean tones are open and defined; overdriven tones remain tight and focused. Gotoh locking tuners contribute excellent tuning stability and practical reliability.
A thoughtfully built Japanese semi-hollow that sits comfortably between vintage inspiration and modern performance.
